Plot Summary

Game 7 of the World Series, bottom of the ninth, 9-9. Bill Mazeroski had envisioned such a moment while playing alone on the isolated dell where he grew up. But this time he was swinging a regulation bat, not a broom handle. Mazeroski's swing was pure, and his home run lifted the Pittsburgh Pirates to a memorable World Series triumph over the Yankees.
