Plot Summary
Good pitching shuts down good hitting. The old baseball adage rang true in the 1965 World Series, as the heavy hitters of the Minnesota Twins were largely silenced after taking a commanding two games to none lead. The mighty Sandy Koufax got the Game 7 nod on two days rest and responded with his second consecutive complete game shutout to capture the crown. For his heroic World Series efforts, Koufax was awarded series MVP.
