Plot Summary

By the third inning of Game 1, the Dodgers had already plated two runs off of Orioles starter Dave McNally. Hope was once again in the air for the formidable Dodgers squad, but thoughts of a repeat were quickly extinguished as the "Baby Birds" - Jim Palmer, Dave McNally, Steve Barber, and Wally Bunker - shut down the Dodgers for the final 33 innings of the series. Triple Crown and MVP winner Frank Robinson took World Series MVP honors in the sweep.
