Plot Summary

Just before Game 3 of the 1989 World Series, with the Oakland A's up 2 games to none against the San Francisco Giants, the Bay Area was struck by a 7.1-magnitude earthquake. With the region devastated, the game was delayed indefinitely and no one was sure when the World Series would restart. When play finally resumed 10 days later, the A's took care of business with two subdued - but nonetheless gratifying - victories.
