Plot Summary
Monkeyflower is a new age satire. It follows MIchelle & Mike, two novice filmmakers, as they embark on Venice Beach to ask the question, "What's your perfect world?" Their documentary turns into a narrative feature when they meet 5 outlandish new age superheros, The Dreamers, led by Tiki, who's from "the left side of Venus". These new agers think they are helping to change the planet. Michelle and Mike think they have finally found their film. But as the filmmakers document the new age superhero training, Michelle begins to get sucked into their message, and ultimately spouts their mantra "love is real". Michelle and Mike's relationship is on the rocks when Michelle decides to go to the "other side". Then Mike finds evidence that this was a reality show set up. Totally destroyed, Michelle agrees to meet with one of the Dreamers, who convinces her to finish what she started. Michelle gets the Dreamers back together and together they embark on a mystical journey to find "The Thinker" and regain control of the "Crystal Skull."
