Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Moscow would be in a lot of trouble without a superbly sensitive portrayal by Robin Williams of a gentle Russian circus musician who makes a sudden decision to defect while visiting the US. – Variety Staff, Variety, Nov 8, 2011

Fresh: It made me feel good to be an American, and good that Vladimir Ivanoff was going to be one, too. – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times, Nov 8, 2011

Fresh: As a fish-out-of-water comedy-drama, it works well. – Empire Magazine, Nov 8, 2011

Fresh: Where it scores so highly is not only in its ability to evoke Vladimir's astonishment at the bizarre, sometimes brutal texture of New York life, but also in the generosity it extends to the musician's sad predicament. – Geoff Andrew, Time Out, Nov 8, 2011

Great movie about Cold War and USSR

Of course not only. That's also about Love, Freedom and all of humane kind ;)

Wonderful movie!

I’ve watched this movie several times and enjoy it each time. Robin Williams shows he’s not only a funny man, but can also be serious anytime he wishes. Not a bad Russian accent either. It makes me glad to be an American.

Miss him already

This movie was great yet it's not mentioned in the tribute to Robin Williams here on iTunes. Have people already forgetten what the red curtain was all about?
