Plot Summary
As the creative force behind Electric Light Orchestra and a singularly accomplished singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer, Jeff Lynne is one of rock’s most iconic—yet mysterious—figures. Please join us as we help celebrate his return to make some new waves and shed a little electric light with a screening of Lynne’s illuminating and entertaining documentary, Mr. Blue Sky: The Story of Jeff Lynne and ELO, written and directed by Martyn Atkins. Not just your standard “rock doc,” it’s also a mystery movie that, once and for all, explains: who is this man, Jeff Lynne, and how has he had such a tremendous musical influence on our world? The answer—as told by Lynne himself and such distinguished collaborators and friends of Jeff as Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Tom Petty, Joe Walsh, Olivia and Dhani Harrison, Barbara Orbison and Eric Idle —is that Lynne is a true man of music for whom the recording studio is his greatest instrument.

Quick Look
This is a really good; however, quick look inside the life work of Jeff Lynne. I really enjoyed watching and listening to some stripped down versions of his songs. Mr. Lynne is a fantastic talent that has gone largely out of the conscience of mainstream pop music fans for years. Hopefully this brief film will put some of his accomplishments into a wider audience. What I would give for the opportunity to work with Mr. Lynne. I'm sure those whom have been that fortunate truly understand.

Not really about ELO
This documentary is only hampered by the lack of information about ELO. It spends far too much time on his evolvement with the Beatles and the Traveling Wilburys. And how could you in good conscience make a documentary about Jeff Lynne without interviewing Richard Tandy and Bev Bevin?
Simply brilliant!!!
A great documentary on Jeff Lynne. Also includes some great performances.
