Plot Summary

Charmingly British, Mr. Right is a fast-paced, colorful, and exuberant romantic-comedy that tells the intertwined tales of Louise, an attractive single Brit looking for love and her gay friends, including TV producer Harry who lives with his rascal young actor boyfriend Alex; Rugby player William who dates soap star Lawrence; and wealthy artist Tom who is trying to hold on to the model Lars. When Louise brings her latest catch Paul to dinner, this unwittingly sets off a chain of events that calls into question each couple's relationship, as well as challenging Paul's heterosexuality! Handsome British TV hunks James Lance and Benjamin Hart spearhead this film's excellent cast. Co-directed by brother-sister team Jacqui and David Morris, Mr. Right packs plenty of witty repartee into a stylish, sophisticated package that also manages to convey some tender truths about the search for Mr. Right (alongside the pleasures of finding Mr. Right Now).

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: It means well, but it's one of those shoddy, very-low-budget British films that don't merit even a tiny release. – Nicholas Barber, Independent on Sunday, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Despite efforts towards the end to import a little serious sentiment, much of the time it feels as though Mr Right is setting out deliberately to confirm every nasty stereotype about gay men. – Robert Hanks, Independent, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Most disastrous is the script, which carries about as much dramatic weight as an episode of 'Heartbeat'. – Tom Huddlestone, Time Out, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Mr Right must surely be the first gay movie that manages, by virtue of its overwhelming ineptitude, to be curiously homophobic. – Kevin Maher, Times [UK], Jun 24, 2010
