Plot Summary

When gorgeous bride to be Vanessa Sinclair (Rachael Leigh Cook, "She's All That," "Josie and the Pussycats") starts fantasizing about every man she sees, she seeks refuge in the church confessional. After pouring out her soul to the priest inside, Vanessa asks him to remain by her side to help her remain faithful until the big day. However, the man she believes to be a priest is actual the sexy local carpenter repairing the confessional. Before you can say "mistaken identity," the motorcycle-riding ladies-man Nick Francis (British heart-throb Kenny Doughty, "Crush") has transformed himself into "Father Nick" to seduce the blushing bride. But lust quickly turns into love, and the fake priest must find a way to stop the wedding and reveal his true identity before he loses the woman of his dreams forever.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: After languishing unseen for years, Laurent Firode's long-delayed comedy is finally getting its day in the sun. Too bad there's such a heavy shadow hanging over it. – Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: With a title like My First Wedding, viewers shouldn't expect anything other than a date movie that relies more on likable characters than originality. – Jeff Strickler, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: The narrative impetus of the film is stupidity, as Laurent Firode's romantic comedy only manages to progress from plot point A to B thanks to the witlessness of its unbelievably naive protagonists. – Nick Schager, Slant Magazine, Aug 25, 2006

Pass it by

Implausible, left me rooting for the other guy and feeling the lead actor needed to be locked up

Poorly written and not so well directed

Nice cast, would like to see them in other movies

This is not even a light rainy day movie; pass it by

hehehe...I remember my first wedding

Well this sure takes me back to the good old days! I can remember my first wedding like it was just yesterday. I was getting married to the love of my life Debbie..or Rachel. One of the two, Never could remember the poor girls name. Anyway, there was alot of flowers, and some brat gave me a ring. I gave him a "Thank You" and a dollar, and pocketed the treasure. Then this other little girl, a scrawny one was throwing flowers everywhere. I told her to knock it off, and then Betty started to cry. Or maybe it was Candice. Huh. Anyway, it only lasted a year, and 5 weddings later, here I am, thinking of my first love, Wendy. Or maybe it was Anne.
