The world needs storytellers with this much warmth, wit, and wisdom to their parables. The world needs Mike Birbiglia, a special kind of genius.
Amazing
I watched this twice and loved it both times but for different reasons. The first time was right after I saw "Sleepwalk With Me" which I also highly recommend. Then a few months later I'm listening to Jeff Garlin's podcast (one last thing I would recommend looking into) and Mike Birbiglia was the guest. They get into the description of "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" and he describes it as a comedy special that is also romantic. Jeff Garlin's response was right when he says that has never been done before. Personally, I think it is hard to find a comedy special that hasn't been done and done really well. So I go home that night and watch it again, appreciating it even more the second time. The best part about this special is it's perfect blend of great comedy mixed with hilarious story telling that keeps you hooked. I never write reviews, but I also remember in that same podcast episode Mike Birbiglia bringing up how important reviews are for specials like this. You wont regret this purchase. Then after you love it, write a review please:) And now that my first ever review is done, time to hit up the "as seen on tv" bacon bowl web page...
A Must-See
Anyone who is a fan of comedy, I implore you to watch this ASAP. It is a masterpiece.
