Plot Summary
In 1729 Kazakhstan, a ferocious Mongol tribe sweeps across the Steppes while cowardly Kazakh sultans leave their people to fend for themselves. Many of the villagers flee to the mountains for safety, while in a quest for revenge, a young man named Sartai returns to the Steppe to assemble a detachment of young warriors and lead them into battle to free his country from decades of terror. Sartai's story is one of love, loss, bravery and the invincibility of the human spirit.

You must see this awesome movie!
Great costumes, acting, story, lighting, and scenery. Based on a true story. Movie has English subtitles. The long shots of the landscape were gorgeous; I can see why the characters loved their land. I learned something about a country I have never been to and a culture I know almost nothing about. This was a unique, well-made, and excellent 'foreign' film. --- Signed: Movie lover from the USA (Los Angeles).
