Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: One of the film's more likable aspects is its certainty that nothing's sacred. – Janet Maslin, New York Times, Sep 2, 2014

Fresh: You still feel that every delirious allusion, every snidely on-the-mark observational quip, is tickling a different part of your cerebral cortex. Yet the movie lacks the manic highs of the show's best episodes. – Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly, Sep 2, 2014

Fresh: As the gags pile up remorselessly, and the viewer strains to keep up with the story line and the cutting subtext, a furious but benign apnea takes hold. You can't enjoy a good long laugh because you'll miss too much. – Richard Corliss, TIME Magazine, Sep 2, 2014

Rotten: I guess there are some concepts that don't excel in the translation from the small screen to the big one. – James Berardinelli, ReelViews, Jun 5, 2007

Extremely funny!

This is a must own for any fan, or even those just getting into the series. Never a dull moment with this one. You'll laugh all the way through!

I love MST3K, but this was not as good as I hoped...

...don't get me wrong, it was good, but it's a little short, and there was a bit too much intermission action and not enough wry commentary for my taste. And what's Dr. Forester without TV's Frank? No Pearl, Brain Guy, or Bobo, either. Plus, no Joe Don Baker...

Yup, best one ever.

This movie is above and beyond what one might expect from the cast of MST3K. It's absolutely hilarious from start to finish. The only thing I might have wanted more of was the Shatner jokes. But seriously, aside from MAYBE Puma Man, this is the best of the Mystery Science Theater 3000 collection. If you're new to the series, this is the perfect way to get started.
