Plot Summary

This stunningly creepy and twisted 2012 Tribeca Film Festival alum is a comedic tale of revenge, but whose? When Paul (a grad student struggling to finish his thesis on Dickens) moves out of their apartment to move in with his girlfriend, his old roommate, Nancy sets out to “ruin” his life by not allowing him access to the copy of Little Dorrit that he left in the apartment. Whether she is in his mind or in his life, Nancy is a diabolical plague on Paul that he cannot shake or recover from that will make you think twice about whom you choose as your next roommate. A FilmBuff Presentation.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: A darkly comic psychodrama about academic pressure and irrational paranoia. – Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times, May 23, 2013

Fresh: Overly one-note in its singular p.o.v., the pic nevertheless offers a welcome variation on the conquering frat boy or Ferris Bueller-type adolescent. – Ronnie Scheib, Variety, May 23, 2013

Fresh: This subtly engrossing psychological thriller plays like an intellectual version of Fatal Attraction, minus the sex and the dead bunny. And that's meant as a compliment. – Frank Scheck, Hollywood Reporter, May 23, 2013

Fresh: The acting is disciplined (particularly impressive in that the characters are uniformly unsympathetic) and the timing is carefully worked out with regards to Paul's slow-motion breakdown. – J. Hoberman, ARTINFO.com, May 23, 2013

Dark, Funny, Amazing

I loved this film. Even though I normally don't like psychological thrillers, I found Nancy, Please to be so funny and interesting, albeit in a very dark way, that I couldn't help but be invested in the narrative right until the very end. This is a great film and I recommend watching it to anyone who is willing to look beyond some of the larger films out there to the truly fantastic hidden gems like this.

A must see

Dark, eerie, and makes you feel the paranoia that completely embodies Will Rogers' character. There are vibes of dark drama, horror, and it's hard to look away. A nightmare worth watching

Great Film

Wonderful film that really gets into the head of the main character, Eleonore Hendricks is fantastic as the brutal and complicated Nancy. If you've ever suffered writer's block and looked for anything to pin your paranoia on, this film is for you.
