Plot Summary
A Brooklyn repo-man and his globetrotting girlfriend forge an unlikely romance. But what should be a match made in stoner heaven turns into a love triangle gone awry in this dark comedy that is part ballad of chemical dependency, part coming-of-age romance, part hallucinatory adventure.

Rotten: "Newlyweeds," for all its freshness, never really lands. It remains suspended in a haze of secondhand smoke.
Fresh: More a series of darkly comic vignettes than a conventional romance, King's exploration of chemically altered human chemistry is amusing if slight, and his two leads are appealingly solid, especially Cheatom.
Fresh: A smoky, jazzy, biting and heartfelt comedy about two young people, one love affair, American life, African-American life, Brooklyn and - oh, yeah - weed.
Fresh: Far from preachy, Newlyweeds treats its subject matter with increasingly sobering gravity, and both Cheatom and Harris embody their characters not as cartoons but as lonely, misguided souls too blazed to realize the error of their ways.

Entertaining and meaningful storytelling.
So good!!
First of all this joint (pun intended!) is hilarious! I love the cinematography! The couple, their dialogue and much of the dialogue throughout is so real and natural. They are both so deeply flawed yet beautifully human. Totally engaging from beginning to end. Also, really fresh and unconventional. Watch it!
