Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Although pic's basic premise is repellent -- recently dead bodies are resurrected and begin killing human beings in order to eat their flesh -- it is in execution that the film distastefully excels. – Variety Staff, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: George Romero's remarkably assured debut, made on a shoestring, about a group of people barricaded inside a farmhouse while an army of flesh-eating zombies roams the countryside, deflates all genre cliches. – Elliott Stein, Village Voice, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: I felt real terror in that neighborhood theater last Saturday afternoon. I saw kids who had no resources they could draw upon to protect themselves from the dread and fear they felt. – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Over its short, furious course, the picture violates so many strong taboos -- cannibalism, incest, necrophilia -- that it leaves audiences giddy and hysterical. – Dave Kehr, Chicago Reader, Jun 24, 2010

This COLOR version is awesome!

It’s so cool to see George Romero’s classic Night of the Living Dead in color after seeing it in b/w for so many years. The color really pops and makes it feel like a whole new movie. Totally worth getting this version as it has been restored as well and looks great.

A Masterpiece Horror Film

I originally purchased this for a Halloween party and while everyone still got the creeps watching this film, I watched it again the next night--alone!! This is a true horror classic. Films like Halloween or Friday the 13th got their inspiration from this fabulously scary film. Also a true treat to enjoy in color (great quality). Boo!!!
