Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Although pic's basic premise is repellent -- recently dead bodies are resurrected and begin killing human beings in order to eat their flesh -- it is in execution that the film distastefully excels.
Fresh: George Romero's remarkably assured debut, made on a shoestring, about a group of people barricaded inside a farmhouse while an army of flesh-eating zombies roams the countryside, deflates all genre cliches.
Fresh: I felt real terror in that neighborhood theater last Saturday afternoon. I saw kids who had no resources they could draw upon to protect themselves from the dread and fear they felt.
Fresh: Over its short, furious course, the picture violates so many strong taboos -- cannibalism, incest, necrophilia -- that it leaves audiences giddy and hysterical.

Great Movie, Poor Version
There are two iTunes versions of this 1968 classic. This one costs $9.99 and is very poor quality. The other one costs half as much and is a much better remastered quality. Don't waste money like I did on this more expensive but inferior version.

If you are going to watch this awesome movie, best to watch the COLOR version which is also restored. It’s on iTunes and has the GREEN cover. Best version!
Braaaaiinnss!
Most Horrifying
The scariest part of this movie is not the zombies, it's the well displayed breakdown if society. Throughout the movie hope is begun to be lost after most of the people alive in the house get killed and eaten. The most horrifying part is when the power shuts off and cuts off the television, their only source to the outside wirld
