Plot Summary

Renowned director Martin Scorsese's documentary No Direction Home: Bob Dylan chronicles the career of the singer and songwriter during the tumultuous years between 1961 and 1966. Dylan allowed Scorsese to have access to hours of footage that had never before been made public, including a number of live performances, and footage of Dylan in the recording studio creating some of his landmark albums from the period. Dylan sits for an extensive interview, as does a variety of people who worked with him during this time period, including Joan Baez and fellow songwriter Pete Seeger. The film debuted on PBS stations around the country on September 26, 2005.

Fresh: As good as it gets in music documentaries. – Glenn Abel, Hollywood Reporter, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Creates a portrait that is deep, sympathetic, perceptive and yet finally leaves Dylan shrouded in mystery, which is where he properly lives. – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: To narrate selected details from this journey from the Iron Range to Greenwich Village to Rock Star Babylon, we get generous, attention-span respecting clips of Dylan performances and reminiscences from carefully selected talking heads. – David Yaffe, Slate, Jun 24, 2010

only scorsese, only dylan.

this is it. the underline. the exclamation point. the final word. only martin scorsese could have made a film that perfectly captures the genius of bob dylan. there should be no hesitation to buy this whatsoever.

If you need to ask don't buy it.

Do you even need to look at a review of the man who blew away the music legends of all historical significance or joined them including the Bachs, the Beetovans, Beatles, Elvis, Motown, BB King, Stones and the true Aretha. SO much to say and no room to do it. Buy to the youth and buy to the old. More to Dylan than a rolling stone. Classic poet of all time and I dont even like him that much.

Can't get much better then this
