Plot Summary

Activist, linguist, and dissident thinker Noam Chomsky was once described by The New York Times as "the most important intellectual alive," and he has gained both passionate admirers and vehement detractors for his outspoken speeches and writings on United States foreign policy. From the Vietnam War to the post-9/11 conflict in Iraq, Chomsky has bravely confronted the failings of America's policies abroad, and examined how the nation's political decision-making process is frequently compromised in a manner that does not benefit the people. Noam Chomsky: Rebel Without a Pause is a documentary which looks at the work of this outspoken activist, focusing on the issues of post-9/11 terrorism and the growing sentiment against Americans around the globe; the film also includes contributions from fellow activists and Carol Chomsky, Noam's wife and tour manager.

Don't waste your money

Chomsky is a great thinker and has written some powerful books but this documentary is garbage. If a 5th grade student had made it, I would probably give him/her a B. We learn nothing about the man, and only scant pieces of luke warm conspiracy fodder. I was, very disappointed, I was expecting to watch a film which chronicled the evolution of a great thinker/intellectual; this was a great big let down. Horrible film making across the board, buy one of his books but definitely don't download this, you'll be sorry

chomsky interpreted

This film makes it possible to uncerstand the work of the most important intellectual of the end of the 20th century in the US. His books and lectures are so dense and he makes clear what seems so obvious ( we went to war for oil, thr ruling elites run the country) that it can be a bir boring and tiring to try and sit through one of his lectures. Hopefully this film will interest people enough in his work that they will go back and see his earlier films, Especially Manufacturing Consent.

iTunes should carry Manufacturing Consent

a much much better film... Viva El Chomsky!
