Plot Summary

Rotten: Though clearly meant as a heartwarmer in the long-standing holiday tradition, Chazz Palminteri's film comes off as strange and sour.
Rotten: Palminteri draws some very good performances from his cast -- only to pile on a lot of shameless heart-tugging on top of a contrived script about five New Yorkers facing Christmas Eve alone.
Rotten: Hubbard's script is so steeped in sludgy sentimentality that the film's early hints of quirkiness quickly give way to heavy-handed faith healing.
Rotten: Most of the redemptive notes ring false, as does the mythical Manhattan, where the snow is just too clean and everybody lives around the corner.

Left me Speechless
this movie was ten times better then i exapected. It really did shock me and changed me in a good way, it'll make you cry and happy it really is a very powerful piece.
Extremely Touching and Heartwarming
The performances in this movie are all excellent. Like many dramas, this movie contains several characters whose lives are intertwined over Christmas. Penelope Cruz is always lovely to look at and she brings great depth to her character. Paul Walker is uncharacteristically vulnerable and both Alan Arkin and Susan Sarandon are superb!! Expect a little magic this Christmas or watch this film to make any day Christmas and A DAY TO REMEMBER! Sweet, sad, heart breaking and uplifting. I'm sure you'll enjoy this movie and want to share it with those you love!
THIS AIN'T IT...
I'm not sure how this got in the "KIDS & FAMILY" category, and I don't know how it was rated PG (should be PG-13), so if you're looking for a family Christmas movie - THIS AIN'T IT!! It's a pretty good film - but from the plot summary description and rating...you may be thinking it's appropriate to "gather round & watch with the fam" - NOT IN MY OPINION!! But for an older audiance looking for something that isn't a typical Christmas movie - you may enjoy this!
