Python fans are in for a treat!

I have yet to see this incarnation of "Not the Messiah: He's a Very Naughty Boy", but I HAVE seen the American premiere of the work at Caramoor in Katonah, NY and it was hilarious! It is full of the trademark Python silliness that you would expect from something like this. And for those of you expecting to hear Handel's Messiah, forget about it!! This work makes his Messiah sound like Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture!

Too British!

I think this is more meant for a British audience, that could better appreciate the comedy appeal of this (Monty Python Comedy Troupe material) as it vastly pervades their culture, much more so than in ours.

I think

I'll stick with the original movie. It's brilliant and subtle and concise. The Albert Hall and orchestra and chorus and such? I wanted to like it but no.. . . . . I just cannot. It sounds too self conscience and not very funny, which is, after all, the point really. This just sounds too self important. Whereas, the movie is just a movie. It has a point, but it is also just entertainment and perfect.
