Plot Summary

Van Damme is back! And this time the action superstar has nowhere to run and nothing to lose. An escaped prisoner hiding from authorities, Sam (Van Damme) always manages to be in the wrong place at the right time. Risking his hard-fought freedom, he aids a beautiful young widow (Rosanna Arquette) against a ruthless developer who wants her land. Hunted by the police and the developer's hired killers, Sam pulls no punches in his furious fight for survival. Filled with hard-hitting action and high-kicking suspense, Nowhere to Run has "more Van Damme action than you've ever seen." Bob Healy, Satellite News Network.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Several members of the Astor Plaza audience yesterday afternoon could not contain their merriment when, in the middle of the film, Mr. Van Damme's character identified himself as a lawyer. – Vincent Canby, New York Times, Nov 2, 2008

Rotten: A relentlessly corny and shamelessly derivative vehicle. – Variety Staff, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: While it boasts better supporting actors and technical credits than other Van Damme projects, the film nonetheless founders, a victim of its own lugubrious pace and misguided efforts at turning the bulging Belgian into a romantic lead. – Richard Harrington, Washington Post, Nov 2, 2008

Rotten: This is the kind of movie that is so witlessly generic that the plot and title disappear into a mist of other recycled plots and interchangeable titles. – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times, Jul 7, 2010
