Plot Summary
In communities across the United States, competition to get into the best schools is starting early. New York City is at the center of this phenomenon, where nursery schools - homes of finger-painting, building blocks, and naptime - have become the arena where parents jostle for the privilege to place their toddlers.

Fresh: If you thrill to the sight of a preschool teacher bringing an investment banker to his knees, then Nursery University is for you.
Fresh: It certainly provides thorough, balanced, often playful evidence of the perverted educational ecosystem that has sprung up to support the toppling egos of Manhattan's upper-crust parents.
Fresh: There's wicked fun in watching the wealthy sweat the small stuff, but this documentary has empathy for parents of all incomes.
Rotten: Despite its behind-the-scenes peeks, the film would have benefited from a deeper examination of how these institutions prosper from parental paranoia run amok.

NYC Prep (baby edition)
This is an amazing look at how parents try and get their kids into the top nursery schools in NYC. It's fun and yet somewhat startling how much money and effort goes into pre-school.
Startling but very informative!
This is a very entertaining documentary that takes you inside the crazy application process for top-notch preschools. Though the parents have their kids' best interest at heart, I can't help but think it's a little naive to assume that getting into a good preschool results in the admission to a prestigious university. Whatever your take is, this film is definitely a great one for anybody to see
Great Documentary
Great documentary, gives a top notch view into the life of parents trying to get their children into a preschool in new york. I think they should do one following the Kindergarten admissions, because that process is even more rigorous and competetive than the preschool one. They should probably keep in contact with the families they used in this dicumentary for that process, and add in another couple to replace the lady who moved to Boston. I personally think she went about the whole process wrong and with the wrong thinking. In the end, like teachers in this documentary, and teachers in other documentaries and articles have stated, that these kids are not going to get into the Ivy's because of what preschool they went to, they do have a legup into getting into the right kindergartens, which is good becsue alot of the private/independent schools in New York go from K-12, so they wouldn't have to worry anymore about admissions. The admissions are crazy but I still plan to live in NYC one day, so my future kids are just going to have to be tough.
