Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Like the bloodied placards brandished by demonstrators outside women's health clinics, the film communicates in the language of guilt and fear. – Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times, Mar 22, 2012

Rotten: [An] earnest, faith-based drama, which lacks sufficient entertainment value to make its message go down more palatably. – Frank Scheck, Hollywood Reporter, Mar 23, 2012

Rotten: The odds that this has happened in the real world approach those of being struck by lightning and eaten by a shark at the same time. With a winning lottery ticket tucked in your swimsuit. – Andrew O'Hehir, Salon.com, Mar 23, 2012

Rotten: A slick piece of pro-life propaganda, it has relatively luxe production values, painfully earnest performances, and a drippy "inspirational" score. – Michelle Orange, Village Voice, Mar 20, 2012

A compassionate and realistic movie

A film that is both poignant and uplifting - a combination that is difficult to hold together. October Baby tells a good tale and treats you like an adult and leaves you to sort out your own emotions.

If many of these so-called "professional" critics would review a film based on its ability to tell a story and involve the audience, rather than critique a film based on whether it agrees with their sense of right or wrong, then perhaps they would be objective enough to see that October Baby is indeed a fine film.

Expectations Exceeded

I generally have low expectations for the production value of Christian films, but this movie greatly exceeded my expectations. It didn't seem low-budget, it didn't come off as preachy, the acting was generally believable, and although it centers around a girl who survived an attempted abortion, it didn't even push an overtly pro-life agenda.

Definitely worth watching.

The movie reveals the truth about healing and forgiveness after abortion

After reading some of the critics comments, you will quickly see they have hardened hearts because they fail to see their are in fact babies who do survive the cruel and inhumane act of abortion. They also fail to see there is healing for the mothers and the baby. All of this is well portrayed in the movie. It's a great message of hope, love and forgives.....a message you will not hear from the pro death camp.
