Plot Summary
Nominated for nine Academy Awards and winner of five, including the top categories of Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay. Randle Patrick McMurphy (multi-Oscar winner Jack Nicholson -- "Something's Gotta Give," "As Good As It Gets") is a free-spirited, small-time convict who fakes being crazy so he can get transferred from the state penitentiary to what he thinks will be a more comfortable state mental hospital. But his contagious sense of delightful chaos clashes with the numbing routine of the hospital and the woman in charge of making sure nothing disrupts the sedate mood of the floor, Nurse Ratched (Oscar-winner Louise Fletcher -- "Cruel Intentions," "2 Days in the Valley"). Based on Ken Kesey's acclaimed bestseller. The superb cast also includes Emmy-winner Danny DeVito ("Big Fish," "L.A. Confidential"), Emmy-winner Christopher Lloyd (the "Back to the Future" trilogy, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit") and Brad Dourif (the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, "Murder in the First").

Fresh: There's a lot here. But with a classic like Cuckoo's Nest, too much is never enough.
Fresh: Jack Nicholson stars in an outstanding characterization of Ken Kesey's asylum anti-hero, McMurphy, and Milos Forman's direction of a superbly-cast film is equally meritorious.
Fresh: Is One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest not a great film because it is manipulative, or is it great because it is so superbly manipulative? I can see it through either filter.
Fresh: Viewed 30 years after its release, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest remains a very good motion picture, although one that perhaps just misses the pinnacle of greatness where its reputation suggests it resides.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Without doubt one of the most intense movie's ever done. This movie is more then just about authority. This is about the excess of authority unchecked. I hope that a lot of you younger guys and gals read the book and watch the movie. Also, for all you wannbe tough guys there is a time and place for everything, this can show you in a sense when that time is.
