Exceptional movie, a

This was the movie that created the George Clooney/Steven Soderbergh relationship that has since brought us Ocean's 11-13, K-Street, The Good German, Solaris, et al. This is one of my favorite movies and on the surface that may sound perposterous but this movie features a compelling, fun crime story (based on the Elmore Leonard novel (writer of Get Shorty)), an interesting time-shifting method of storytelling, camera work with freezes that tie out to the BRILLIANT David Holmes score. This is my favorite original score of any movie. Moreover, Jennifer Lopez gave a (VERY unexpected) great, somewhat understated performance. There is great chemistry between her and Clooney, in a somewhat unbelievable relationship you never doubt their attraction to one another. Beyond Clooney/Lopez is a phenomenal cast (many of whom have since become much more well-known since): Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda, Ocean's 11), Isaiah Washington (Grey's Anatomy), Ving Rhames, Catherine Keener, Luis Guzman, Dennis Farina, Michael Keaton (in a great cameo), Steve Zahn, and Albert Brooks. If you have never seen this movie, I highly recommend giving it a chance. My first instinct was that I wouldnt like it and it has become a favorite of mine. I hope you enjoy it even half as much as I did.

A movie that deserved a better box office than it got

When originally released, "Out of Sight" did not do particularly well -- it was the middle of the summer and it just got lost in the blockbusters. That's too bad, because it was very well written and had many memorable performances by a strong cast. Two scenes stand out and both showcased the remarkable chemistry between Clooney and Lopez: First, the time the two spend in the trunk of the T-bird - truly classic dialog and body language. Then, later, when the two have drinks together in the Detroit hotel - as sexy and intimate as conversations on screen get. Most definitely worth renting!

Very Fun.

Really enjoyed this film. Has a very fun and sleek style.
