Plot Summary
Oscar-nominee Woody Harrelson ("Wag the Dog," "People vs. Larry Flynt") stars as a small-town journalist on his way to a promising career when he refuses to kill a story on a horseracing racket. Subsequently set up to take the fall, he goes to prison. Two years later, a free man again, he reluctantly returns home to Palmetto, where he soon finds himself embroiled in a shady scheme involving a mysterious femme fatale (Oscar-nominee Elisabeth Shue - "Hollow Man," "Leaving Las Vegas") and the phony kidnapping of the daughter of one of the town's wealthiest citizens.

Sultry Modern Noir
Great somewhat old school Film Noir with modern twists. Not boring though like some old noir flicks. Sexy but tasteful. Woody, Shue, and Gershon all do great Jobs. The film also is directed by a German director and the screenplay is based on an old pulp novel and written by E. Max Frye of "Something Wild" fame. I love this film.
