Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Certainly what Said says will not come as a surprise to any Israeli. It's simply that they disagree. We may disagree, too, and yet watch the film with a fearsome fascination. – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: The film offers food for thought, and reminds us that, in any war, one who understands the mindset of his opponent gains an important tactical advantage. – James Berardinelli, ReelViews, Jul 1, 2008

Fresh: [A] sensitive, occasionally didactic film. – Lisa Kennedy, Denver Post, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: ... it says more about Middle Eastern politics from the Palestinian side than any movie, period. – Roger Moore, Orlando Sentinel, May 13, 2009

A View from the Other Side

It troubles me that the only other review of this film was so negative. A far more accurate appraisal is to say that this film provides a seldom seen glimpse of the other side of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It is significant more so however in that it does not really levy any judgement on the actions of either side, but instead provides a fairly objective look at the situation. There can be no doubt this film will anger a great many viewers who hold strong opinions concerning the conflict, however that is only because it serves to remind us that the conflict is anything but simply understood.

Briliant movie!

It is a phisycological movie that allows you to enter the mind of the character Said and makes you understand what motivates him to do such a terrible act. In the end, we find that he was only one more victim of the system. After this, we need to review all our concepts.

Brilliant

A great perspective from the other side.
