Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: It ... brings fake-out jolts and humor into play. – Andy Webster, New York Times, Oct 20, 2011

Fresh: This third Paranormal is a prequel that occasionally goes off the rails but also offers more laughs and somewhat more character development than the previous installments. – Claudia Puig, USA Today, Oct 20, 2011

Fresh: Far and away the sharpest, most wildly aware film in the series. – Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times, Oct 20, 2011

Fresh: "Paranormal Activity 3'' has no interest in art. It just wants to give you the willies with a minimum of gore and a maximum of camcorder dread, and it succeeds. – Ty Burr, Boston Globe, Oct 20, 2011

um...

let's just say im not ever going to grandma's house anymore..

A FUN, FRIGHT-FILLED PREQUEL!

The wildly successful "Paranormal Activity" franchise continues with this latest installment, a prequel that recollects how those mysterious ghostly entities first came into the lives of Katie and Kristi. And I'd be lying if I said this movie wasn't the best one in the saga so far! Not only does "Paranormal Activity 3" pack on more unexpected scares and chilling atmosphere than before, but it manages to expose many previously unanswered questions along the way. What I found most surprising about the film, though, is that it really doesn't feel like a retread. Sure, the jolts and thrills can get somewhat predictable at times, especially near the end, but for the most part, it had me on the edge of my seat. There were a lot of times when I really didn't know what was gonna happen. And frankly, that was a really refreshing experience, considering I hardly ever get shocked in "found footage" flicks. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this third addition to the "Paranormal Activity" series to anyone who wants to get a good scare. Of course it's gimmicky, but that's what makes it fun in the first place. Even if you haven't seen the first two movies, I still recommend renting this one in particular. It's a spine-tingling guilty pleasure that'll leave you wanting more!

Freaky

I thought the movie had better scares then the first one. i wont compare this to the second because that one was boring. but this is a better then the first. It doesnt explain much though... i thought there was a fire at the the girls house or something??? anyways.. 4 stars good movie... if you saw the first two you have to see this one... and the ending wasnt bad at all... i dont know why people are saying that.
