Plot Summary

If income inequality were a sport, the residents of 740 Park Avenue in Manhattan would all be medalists. This address boasts the highest number of billionaires in the United States, many of whom actively lobby and finance political campaigns to lower taxes on the wealthy. Less than four miles away, Park Avenue runs through New York's 16th Congressional District in the South Bronx, which has the highest poverty rate in the U.S. Minutes away from one another as the crow flies, these New Yorkers face dramatically different economic realities.

Great insight into the political influence of $

This documentary gives an interesting perspective on money, power, and the social ramifications of a country where wealth disparity is growing faster than any other time in recent history

Quite stirring!

I would not say this movie is propaganda, as I knew these happenings were factual already. What was satisfying is that the who's who of "those that have", is investigated and a better understanding of how they operate to keep what they "have", is nicely explained. Two quotes that really hit me were from the New Yorker journalist who said, the "greed is good" ideology, is appealing to people who have a lot of money lest they feel guilty, and the female stock worker who explained, 9 out of 10 wealthy people come from a background of wealth and have no clue what it's like to struggle to make ends meet. It's very sad.

One sided hack job

This was a well made production, and it would have been really good if not for all of the false claims and the obvious one sided political agenda. It is basically a Democrat telling his side of the story, and then try very hard to demonise the Republicans in the process, as if all the ills in the country are from only one party, when in reality they are both corrupt. The film also almost completlty omits almost all of the contributions made to Obama by lobbyists and all of his crooked dealings, and instead focuses on Paul Ryan, who is not the president, and is not nearly as important or impactful. In the end, if you are a conservative who knows a lot, you will shake your head going, that's not true at all, it's only half the story. And if you are a Democrat who knows a lot, you will shake your head going, yeah this is pretty one sided and even I can see the bias. And if you don't follow politics, and don't know much, then you believe every thing they claim in this one sided hack job.
