Mr. Tompkins at his Best
Paul F. Tompkins has been doing stand-up comedy for a very long time (as you will find out upon watching this). He is one of the best in the business and Laboring Under Delusions had me laughing for the entire hour and 15 minutes. I wish it was cheaper or able to be rented but it is worth the price.
Not just a standup; a storyteller par excellence
Paul F. Tompkins has evolved his comedic style to that of a smart, eloquent, and of course, funny as hell storyteller, covering various highlights and lowlights of his years of employment in this recording of a live set at the Alex Theatre in Glendale.
Not content with a setup punch line routine, he finds the hilariousness and absurdities of what seems like every job he's ever had, from the most menial retail, to working with Tom Cruise.
I don't think Paul has been in better form or funnier than this, and I try to see as much as I can of what he does. Highly recommended.
PFT at the top of his game!
One of the best PFT specials EVER. It was hilarious, of course, but also has a good through-line and a story that I genuinely wanted to hear.
