Plot Summary
In spite of constant harassment and threats from beings from "the other side." Carole Anne Freeling (Heather O'Rourke) is older now, self-possessed and enormously bright. She has been sent to live in a Chicago high-rise with her Uncle Bruce (Tom Skerritt) and his new wife, Pat (Nancy Allen). And Carol Anne still sees things... in mirrors, in reflective surfaces, and she just doesn't want to discuss them. But who do you suppose has followed her to the Windy City? Reverend Kane and his evil flock want to abduct Carol Anne so she can lead them to "the other side.”

Worst of them all
This movie was terrible. Please put the first Poltergeist on itunes. That one is the best.

This movie was really good! There were some pretty scary parts in it!
Alright
This movie compared to the first two Poltergeist films was not nearly as well developed or well written, but it was still good. There are some aspects of this film that I appreciate however, in spite of the flaws the movie suffered from. First of all, the lighting and special effects used in the movie as well as the use of the mirrors to represent the other side with the ghosts inside the mirrors and the people outside of them was a neat idea, but not unique enough to hold everyone's attention. I don't believe a concept like that was what was necesary or well thought out enough to sustain everyone's interest and attention towards the movie. Also, this film seemed to have suffered from really badly written lines for the actors and actresses. It seemed as though every character didn't act horribly in the movie, but it was their lines and how they had to act for each scene that was just incredibly corny and unrealistic. Last, this film was unique because it had new characters introduced into the Poltergeist series, but the people who enjoyed the other Poltergeists for the original cast would probably be disappointed from only two of the characters from the past movies returning in this third one. (Tangina and Carol Anne) Overall, this movie suffers from a very cheaply written story, lack of characters from the previous films, corny acting and lines, and just a flat out uninteresting story driven by the special effects and mirrors that are interesting at first to see, but there isn't much done with them to make them more interesting when people are watching what happens around them. It seems as though there were many aspects of the film that could've been improved also, but for some reason everything in the movie is bland and nothing is done with decent ideas to make them more appealing to the viewers. The movie gets a 4 for somewhat interesting ideas and uses of special effects, though there could've been several changes to many aspects of the film to make it a more imaginative movie for everyone.
