Plot Summary

Hungry for life experience and adventure, Lino Zani is a ski instructor and skilled climber who has grown up on the edge of a 10,000 foot glacier, where his family runs a lodge, and mountain life is his religion. Yet to find his path in life, he never expected to be inspired by a friendship with one of the most influential spiritual leaders in the world, Pope John Paul II. When the Pope treats himself to a short skiing vacation, his choice of accommodation is Lino’s family lodge. Lino and Wojtyla are naturally two very different men but both realize they have more in common than they initially believed: a drive to reach the top and an urge to discover what lies on the other side.
