Plot Summary
Sedat Yılmaz' 2010 film Press tells the story of Turkey's first Kurdish language daily newspaper and its struggle to survive amongst intimidation and threats. In the 1990s, in Diyarbakır, intense skirmishes between the Kurdish guerillas and the Turkish government were taking place. At this time a handful of brave journalists were struggling to report these ongoing human rights violations. The Kurdish language newspaper and its journalists are subjected to various intimidation attempts intended to prevent them from succeeding at their work. It becomes a matter of life or death for the office staff who fight to survive another day to reveal the facts.
