Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: For pure charm and romantic diversion, for bubbling and wholesome life, we most heartily recommend this exquisite comedy about the elegant young gentleman who was proud and the beautiful young lady who was prejudiced. – Bosley Crowther, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Fresh: Typically overstuffed MGM prestige product (1940), but one that came out surprisingly well, with a minimum of Eng. Lit. posturing and some elegance of design. – Dave Kehr, Chicago Reader, Jun 24, 2010

Can we get Firth and Ehle (1995)?

I know there are already two versions of P and P on iTunes, but, honestly, the version w/ Colin Firth as Darcy and Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth is the best all-time! Could iTunes please please please start carrying it?!?!

One of the Best!

Of course, this version does take liberties and strays from Jane Austen's classic in some ways. However, it doesn't seem to matter in the least--the characters still retain their charm, and the small changes actually work for the movie. I love the new version, but this old version is still my favorite.

iTunes, can you put the 2005 Keira Knightley version up please?

I just want to watch that one. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing bad about this one I like a good 'ol black and white movie every now and then. But why don't you have the modern version??
