Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The film, based in name only on a series of South Korean graphic novels, has nice, washed-out desert exteriors and some cool jet-powered motorcycles, but there's nothing in the hackneyed story or the derivative action scenes to make you take notice. – Mike Hale, New York Times, May 13, 2011

Rotten: The film is somehow a disappointing combo of too-full and oddly empty. – Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times, May 13, 2011

Rotten: "Priest'' is based on a series of Korean graphic novels. What it's really based on, though, is other movies - a whole lot of other movies. – Mark Feeney, Boston Globe, May 16, 2011

Rotten: High production values and slick editing can't save this picture. Nor does its overbearing soundtrack music, which tries to strong-arm viewers into believing they're watching a pulse-pounding thriller. – Tirdad Derakhshani, Philadelphia Inquirer, May 15, 2011

Entertaining

i saw the movie in theaters and really liked it. Sure, it could have had some improvements, but taking something from a graphics novel to big screen is going to have some flaws. Hello people, movies are never as good as the books they come from, you have to let your imagination supplement what the movie is unable to convey. I enjoyed it the first time and I'm sure I will enjoy it the next time I see it.

I heard bad things but...

As soon as I was in the theaters I knew someone behind the counter who said this movie was crap and I was bummed. Got in, and it was pretty much what I expected from the start. And I must say, I enjoyed it, A LOT.

I'm a fan of long movies, but they fit everything in pretty well and with the intriguing story and the action, there's not a lot of downtime. I really did like this movie a lot and if you're in the mood for a good action/sci fi movie, this is your fit. If your not in that mood come back another day.

Priest

I enjoyed the movie tremendously. Its nice to see a vampire movie where the vampires aren't someone you would date. The vampires are scary, mean and they are out for blood. The lead character was great and the action scenes were OMG. I have seen and I am buying this movie.
