Plot Summary

Ten-year-old Claire dreams of nothing more than riding a fine white pony and dancing at a ball in a beautiful castle. When she's saddled with the unenviable task of baby-sitting her toddler sister Caitlin, she's sure her world has come to an end. That is, of course, until Caitlin opens a secret doorway under the stairs. Inside, Claire discovers a mysterious trunk, a beautiful locket and a sparkling invitation that transports Claire and her sister to a fairy tale kingdom far, far away. Once in the distant kingdom, however, life is far from easy. Claire finds herself the inadvertent nemesis of the evil Queen Carlotta. Claire's only allies are her sister and a young boy, Anthony. The children soon decide it is up to them to rescue the imprisoned Queen Emma. Claire learns during her adventures that her own courage and a little bit of luck are all she needs to make her dreams come true. She also learns to appreciate her little sister as they work together to find their way home.
