Plot Summary

Before he was a swash buckling sensation in Shrek 2, Puss in Boots was already one of the most popular storybook characters of all time, thanks to his sly schemes and fearless bravado. Screen legend Christopher Walken steps into the wily feline's magical boots in this exciting live-action version of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, complete with singing, dancing and acrobatics! A dying mill owner divides his meager wealth among his sons, leaving only his beloved cat, Puss (Walken), to his youngest son Corin (Jason Connery). Initially disappointed with his four-legged bounty, Corin soon discovers that Puss is no average kitty. In fact, the cat's a brilliant strategist who concocts a daring plan to win both the king's favor and the princess' heart for his new master!

Don't Let the Walken Stop You (Trust Me)

A well-loved movie in my family, this is a fantastic adaptation of the story. It has its scary moments and its completely goofy moments, but action, romance and the odd musical number balance it all out very well. Best of all, the title character isn't an absurd puppet or frightening man in cat make-up. Don't want to ruin it for those who haven't seen it, just know that Walken plays his role well and is quite funny. Not at all scary. Really.

My little sister was an instant fan of puss in boots as soon as she saw the Shrek 2 movie, when she found out that there was a movie starring puss in boots she was thrilled. I can't wait to purchase and watch this movie with her.

not 2005, 1988

I remember this movie from my childhood. Just because you've fallen in love with Antonio's rendition of Pixar's Puss doesn't mean you should be expecting the same out of this. Christopher's performance should be held at a different standard. By far one of my favorite memories as a child.
