Plot Summary

Photographed in the warm beauty of Midwestern autumn, Quench tells the story of Derik, a young man grieving over the recent death of a loved one. After finding no one to turn to, Derik decides to abandon his current life at college to visit Jason. Although best friends since grade school, the two have not seen or spoken to one another in three years. Once they have reunited, Derik soon realizes that Jason is no longer the friend he once knew. Not only has he dramatically changed his external appearance, but he is now a part of a mysterious group he calls "Family." A truly unique, stylish and compelling film, Quench challenges the audience to step inside a world right outside their peripheral view.

Stay away

Simply awful. First time I've given a one start rating--and I've seen a lot of movies. One star for the autumnal Indiana scenery and a couple of the actors were not abysmal.

The plot summary is fairly accurate, except for the last sentence--"unique" it is, but if "stylish and compelling" means what I think it means, it definitely is not. Maybe I allowed myself to be influenced to give this movie a chance by that last sentence. And if the trailer had lasted just a couple of minutes longer--long enough for Jason to make his first appearance-- I certainly wouldn't have bothered.

Generally like the Indies, and make allowances for them. True, many are pretty bad, but campy enough to be at least somewhat amusing---not the case here.

Maybe I was unfair to say it wasn't compelling; I sorta feel compelled to kick myself for wasting my time and money.
