Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The hand-me-down showiness and sluggish storytelling by the director, Paco Cabezas, underline the monotony in this ordinary revenge thriller. – Nicolas Rapold, New York Times, Jul 10, 2014

Rotten: Rage is so full of cliche, convention and just plain odd narrative choices that it can't get out of its own way. – Scott Bowles, USA Today, Jul 10, 2014

Rotten: Piles on the foreign accents and paint-by-numbers brutality, all served up with a grim, operatic self-seriousness that gives Cage's antihero little room to maneuver. – Justin Chang, Variety, Jul 14, 2014

Rotten: The latest in a parade of cheesy, derivative action-thrillers that erstwhile A-list actor Nicolas Cage has recently starred in, presumably as a quick cash grab. – Gary Goldstein, Los Angeles Times, Jul 10, 2014

rage

One of the worse films ever made. Boring and crap. Cage looks like he has black shoe polish coloring his hair. He should be embarrassed by this film and his performance.

Not a Cage best.

This movie is pretty good until the last 15 minutes... Then it just becomes stupid with a terrible ending which leaves you feeling cheated. They could of went so many directions but instead they went with an unbelievable ending that makes you wish you had your hour back.

Boring; dead on arrival

The original movie by George C. Scott was far, far better.
