Culture Shock
I live in a state with a large Somali population -- Minnesota. Contrary to the documentary's description, it does not really deal with slavery in Africa, or post 911 muslim experiences. Rather, it focuses on the personal experiences of Somali refugees as they come to America and try to adapt to their new home. As is to be expected, some take to American culture easier than others, and for some, leaving the painful past behind is difficult. Naturally, there's some culture shock, but in the end, their African spirit shines through and they make the best of their new home.
