Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: As the current obsession with Reagan suggests, it's back to fantasyland! – J. Hoberman, Village Voice, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: No longer is Rambo killing for a cause, but for kicks. And his portentous blather, even by Rambo standards, becomes unintentionally hilarious. – Desson Thomson, Washington Post, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Well-shot and well-edited violence porn. – Mike Thomas, Chicago Sun-Times, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: The orgy of violence, as ghastly as in any video game, should go a long way toward erasing whatever goodwill Stallone earned with his sentimental Rocky Balboa. – J. R. Jones, Chicago Reader, Jun 24, 2010

Best of the 4

Of all four Rambo films I would have to say that my favorite is the latest RAMBO. I have a greater appreciation of this movie especially after seeing Indiana Jones 4. RAMBO does show us an older John Rambo, but it shows him in a realistic light. He is not out there killing hundreds of people by himself. It doesn't show him swinging from trees or jumping between moving vehicles. It shows him behind a bow and then a machine gun. To boil it down, the real reason why I love RAMBO is because it is so realistic. The fact that Stallone used RAMBO to shed light on a real situation happening in Myanmar (Burma). This film had a purpose beyond giving Stallone a bunch of glory; it was a tool to help bring justice to the world. I thought it was filmed in a very realistic manner. The camera work was as if I was running in the forests of Burma myself to witness what was going on. It felt very much like First Blood in that regard. The violence was very real. It didn't sugar coat anything or blow anything out of proportion. The film was very realistic. The only thing that was unreal was the action sequences. They were out of this world! From the scene on the boat, to the bow & arrow scene, to the final sequence, this movie was unbelievable and fast paced! That is all the reasons why RAMBO is my favorite of all 4 movies.

BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!

i am a HUGE fan of john rambo. these movies are so action packed and stuffed with violence, that no man who values his testosterone should miss them. I only have to say that there is so much intense violence and gore that little children should steer clear and teenagers should persist their parents to see this movie. just make sure that you aren't squeemish before you watch it...

Superior

Rambo comes back to life in this all too real action movie. Not only does it shine a light on a real problem in our modern world but it totally kicks you in the teeth. Blood, guts, action, great one liners and the classic bow and arrow. This file exceeds all action films because it could really happen. No crap that couldn't possibly ever happen. This is the real deal my friends. So if you want to be blown away by a 62 year old guy making the best action film since Rambo First blood part 2 then you need to get this film TODAY.
