Plot Summary
From Academy Award®-winning director Brad Bird (The Incredibles) and the amazing storytellers at Pixar Animation Studios comes Ratatouille, the original comedy about one of the most unlikely friendships imaginable. The film's protagonist is a rat named Remy (Patton Oswalt) who dares to dream the impossible dream of becoming a gourmet chef in a five-star French restaurant. Undeterred by the obvious problem of trying to make it in the world's most rodent-phobic profession, not to mention his family's urgings to be satisfied with the usual trash-heap lifestyle, Remy's fantasies are filled with flambés and sautés. When circumstances literally drop Remy into the Parisian restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau (Brad Garrett), Remy finds the one thing he needs, a friend to believe in him: the restaurant's shy, outcast garbage boy named Linguini (Lou Romano). Remy and Linguini form the most improbable partnership that will turn Paris upside down, leading them both on an incredible journey of comical twists, emotional turns and the most unlikely of triumphs, which they could never have imagined without each other. Ratatouille brings to life a wide-ranging roster of memorable characters with a voice cast that includes Patton Oswalt, Brian Dennehy, Brad Garrett, Janeane Garofalo, Ian Holm and Peter O'Toole.

Best Movie I've Seen
I was looking forward to seeing this movie because I love Paris and the French Language, enjoy cooking and am a big Pixar fan. I had seen the trailers and knew it looked great. But even so, I was not prepared for HOW MUCH I loved this movie. It is absolutely the best movie I have seen and I've seen it 6 times. I have never, ever gone to see a movie that many times. I loved the gorgeous animation, the music, the story and most of all the characters. Remy touches your heart as well as your funny bone. Each time I watched it, I noticed something new. The attention to details was superb. Remy's expressions.. his heart beating when he was in the jar.. the scenes in the kitchen etc. I think it deserves to be considered for "best picture of the year" and not just in the animation category!
Best movie of the summer!
This movie is great, the subtleties and wide audience appeal are what sets thie movie apart from recent Disney movies. Brad Bird has a knack for appealing to adults and kids, WITHOUT offensive humor, or dumbing down the plot. The animation is at it's best here, and shows that Pixar is always improving itself. The colors are what interests me, because all Pixar movies have a colored theme, Ratatouille is very natural, very real... it's not as intense as their other movies. There's something very beautiful in that. Everything feels real and believeable, until you find yourself remembering that you're watching an ANIMATED movie. I love that when people give a movie like this a chance, they see that animation deserves to be on the same plane as any other movie. The story may seem a bit silly, but the message behind it is what shines through, it's a common message, but here it's not sugar coated like in other family films. The great part of the story telling is that each of the characters goes through change, some obvious, some subtle. The fact that every character, good or bad, gains something from the story is great from a storytelling perspective. The music is excellent, I thought the Incredibles score was Michael Giacchino's best, until I heard this soundtrack. Great strings and light percussion, very relaxing and flavorful. The acting is top-notch all around, and the animators really deserve credit here, they've really captured the expressiveness and character in each actors voice. The best part of the movie is in the last 5 minutes before the credits roll. Peter O'Toole's monologue is very well written and expressed, and really helps to drive home the theme of the movie. It's one of the most beautiful speeches, as it really makes sense and makes you think... I recommend this movie for anyone who has an open mind, an creative side, or a strong passion that burns with in them, this movie is very inspiring when you let it sink in...
Greatest Pixar Movie Ever!
When I went to see this movie, i had really low expectations, but suprisingly, it was hilarious. The story line was amazing, and there were really great humorous parts. All in all this is a great movie and i think it IS the BEST pixar movie EVER! WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY!
