Plot Summary

Only here can you see the final chapter of the RECESS series. Everyone's favorite fourth graders have graduated! It's an all-new school year for the kids -- and the gang hits the fifth grade running! But they're stopped in their tracks when they discover some unwelcome changes -- no pizza, no playground . . . no lockers! And to make things worse, their teacher turns out to be the cantankerous Miss Finster! It's all too much for T.J., who is determined to find a way to stand up for what the gang believes in and improve the school they love! The fifth grade brings out the best in everyone ... even Miss Finster and Principal Prickly! Full of excitement, surprises, and loads of laughs, you'll discover TAKING THE FIFTH GRADE proves that working together is a great way to learn about friendship, cooperation, and most of all, fun!

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: There's nothing new here, not even the idea of Mikey's singing voice coming from Robert Goulet. – Elvis Mitchell, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Fresh: Though Recess, the feature film, is far from innovative, it is agreeable. – Miles Beller, Los Angeles Times, Jan 28, 2006

Fresh: It's fun, it's kind of somber and it succeeds in making you think about how you might be squandering middle age. – Wesley Morris, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 18, 2002

Fresh: A reasonably entertaining cartoon feature aimed at Baby Boomers and their children. – Lou Lumenick, New York Post, Jun 24, 2010

Beast

I love recess best old show ever

Great show

This was a great shows. So much better then a lot of the crap that is out today. I just wish ITunes could bring out the rest of the series. Not for rent but to buy.

Recess

Brilliant tv show and amazing movies!!! This whole tv series and the movies played an enormous part in my childhood. It's sad to know that this doesn't show anymore and it's even worse that iTunes doesn't have any episodes and is even lacking some of the movies. This show was brilliant and is severely under appreciated in my opinion. It deserves to be aired again!!!
