Fresh: Huston adds a panting melodrama to the whole affair and throws in some rampant symbolism for good measure, but it's a joy to watch such a stellar cast at work. – Film4, Mar 23, 2011

Terrible

I love both the main actors in this film but the majority of the film was just awful, especially the ending.

Enjoyed it

Loved the scenes between Julie Harris and her housekeeper, played by Zorro David. Marlon Brando fondling the empty Baby Ruth wrapper was priceless. Filmed in color, but with muted sepia tones, which works well with the storyline. Toshiro Mayuzumi's score also adds to the overall quality of the production.
