Plot Summary

Don't Pick On The Little Guy
Let me start with the preface that I am of Christian faith and background. I wanted to watch this movie because I love debate and believe that you must always know the other side’s way of thinking if you are ever going to engage in an intelligent conversation. Overall there was one great thing about this movie and two negatives. The positive portion or “theme” of this movie was that Bill asks all of the right questions when it comes to religion. There are a lot of different beliefs out there, and even more denominations within every major doctrine. He does a great job of asking everything that an atheist would and should ask. The problem was in his choice of audience for his “journey.” Instead of going to an unsuspecting group of truck drivers at a gas station, he should have had the guts to talk with the real religious leaders of the time. Interview James Dobson, Joyce Meyers, or Allester Begg if you want some real answers as to why Christians believe what they believe. Secondly, I’m sorry, but I really think that there was some heavy editing in a lot of the interviews. There were so many scenes where Bill would say something “that we’ve never heard before in debate” and then the camera would cut back to a silent and dumbfounded interviewee. This is only speculation, but come on,… every Christian learns before they are even a Christian that all men are sinners and come short of the glory of God (you’ll know what I’m talking about when you watch the movie).

this is a very thought provoking film for "believers" and "non-believers" and should be seen by all who wish to broaden their minds about contemporary religion. having said that, it really shows but one side of the argument. with no disrespect meant, mr. maher attacks the believers and demeans their intelligence based on a faith they've most likely known since birth. who is he to question they're main giver of hope and optimism? for those who wish to see this vital documentary, please remember that there are countless other views thriving in the world we live in and that the opinions of this one man should not dictate your own power of choice and thought.
Should Be Required Viewing For People of All Faiths and Non-Faiths
Thought provoking and refreshing look at religion's place in a modern world.
