Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Ultimately, the ensemble of more than 20 featured characters seems as vapid as the intentionally caricatured adults who pop up on occasion. Where are this decade's John Hugheses? Or even the Cameron Crowes?
Rotten: [Director Jess] Manafort aims for Dazed and Confused, but falls well short of Can't Hardly Wait.
Rotten: This movie isn't even sophomoric; it's freshmanic.
Rotten: Remember the Daze has the irony-free, instant-nostalgia earnestness of your high school yearbook, but watching it is not likely to conjure your own youthful emotions -- it's more like flipping through the generic memories of a complete stranger.

!!!
I haven't seen this movie but i ordered online.. the only reason this will movie will defintley be good is because leighton meester is in it. (random though) i think that the only thing that ruins leighton are her thumbs (as is in the thumbs on her hands) they look like my sister's big toe.. has anyone else noticed or is it just me?
amazing!
wonderful movie! a modern day dazed and confused.
Linklater should have sued those responsible
This movie is a very pale imitation of Dazed and Confused, to the extent that some of the dialog is ripped off as well - a scene with the reference to butt-sniffing is so derivative of D & C that I could barely continue watching. D & C could be watched many, many times and had a sophistication about it that this movie sorely lacks. The drug references in this movie are done so offhand and casually, that I can't believe anyone who has been part of the "stoner" subculture would relate at all - its just so not plausible. One thing that was great about D & C was the subtext that gave all the scenes tremendous depth. This movie has zero depth. And D & C had very distinct and richly defined characters who you almost felt like you knew from HS - the characters in this POS are all too similar for the most part, and they're really banal in any case. Can't believe I bought this based on all the 5 star reviews.
