Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: A strangely tense and humorous meta-narrative about two friends experiencing weird goings-on at a remote cabin. – Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times, Jan 24, 2013

Fresh: Ambiguity enlivens the smart, knotty Resolution, which routinely nods to its own artificiality while positing storytelling as a constantly evolving beast apt to save your life one moment and consume you the next. – Nick Schager, Village Voice, Jan 22, 2013

Fresh: A smart and chilling indie horror from co-directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead ... – Ian Buckwalter, NPR, Jan 25, 2013

Fresh: Resolution makes its own creative crisis the star, trying to make something original out of elements so hackneyed, the filmmakers can't bear to reproduce them. – Scott Tobias, AV Club, Jan 24, 2013

Not a horror movie. Watch worthy.

This movie is more of a drama thriller that might give some chills towards the end. Good acting. Pace is slow at times but I enjoyed the movie.

Creepy as hell. Incredibly rewatchable.

Nothing to say except see it. It's not a traditional horror movie, meaning the focus is more on the characters and storyline (which are fantastic) and less on scares, but it still has some genuinely frightening moments and a creepy tone throughout. Support these guys.

scared me!

creepy, low budget genius. i loved everything but the end, which was kind of "less is more" abrupt and ambiguous. I think it would be better to know that beforehand, so just know when you watch it that the ending will be in the style of the Blair Witch Project. otherwise, enjoy this creepy unique film!
