Plot Summary

They’re back and this time they’re really stewed! It’s been 25 years since the Great Tomato War, and tomatoes are still banned throughout the country. But a terrible plot is being hatched. Evil Professor Gangrene (John Astin) is hard at work in his laboratory, turning tomatoes into perfect human replicas designed to help him take over the world! Will the lecherous professor succeed with his bizarre plan? Can the superhuman vegetables-in-disguise fool the trained eye? Can even the Killer Tomato Task Force stop the insidious onslaught? Before he was a Star

Only watch if you are Interested in seeing George Clooney paying his dues in a bad B movie.

Sure It's a B-Movie

But it works on an entirely different level than the original AotKT. Almost acting like a 90's precursor in terms of winking at the camera and going meta it downplays the horror and ups the comic antics. Another thing that's also intriguing about this it almost plays like beta version of what becomes the basis in the early 90's AotKT cartoon. All and all its worth a watch whether you want to see Clooney before he became big or a horror spoof of 80's staples this movie has a bit of everything.

Turned out to be a great B movie

I first watched this on Netflix and it started off terrible from what I remember. It was only until the middle of the movie when they break the fourth wall that it got so much better. I won't spoil it for anyone though. If you're looking for a good B movie, this movie is a great choice and is pretty entertaining.
