Plot Summary
A lonely Bob Rueland (David Duchovny) is embraced by Grace Briggs (Minnie Driver), who is surrounded by a coterie of substitute mothers including her Irish grandfather, who, with his Italian brother-in-law, run a Chicago restaurant. Although Bob and Grace are strangers at the start of the story, their lives are forever intertwined by fate. Directed by Bonnie Hunt.

Very funny and cleverly written! ! !
This movie is a cleverly written and directed comedy/love story that will grab your heart while splitting your sides. David Duchovny and Minnie Driver are perfect in the roles of Bob and Grace who are strangers with a special connection. They first meet at Grace's grandfather's Chicago Irish-Italian restaurant. The story unfolds from there and surprisingly keeps you on the edge of your seat. Carroll O'Connor is wonderful as the caring grandfather with a funny bunch of misfit friends including Robert Loggia. David Alan Grier adds a lot to the story line as Bob's friend/co-worker and is hilarious in his own right. Bonnie Hunt did an excellent job directing and acting alongside Jim Belushi who is in top form. The plot takes a few twists but you will be along for the ride and glad you did. I'm not usually a comedy person because they usually are not written that well but I can honestly say this is one of my favorites! Plus David Duchovny is just so cute to watch! Good clean fun the whole family can watch too. This is a must buy!!!
Great movie!
This movie is adorable. While the beginning is heartbreaking the movie develops into a beautiful romance and a hilarious comedy! You will love every minute!

Buy it, rent it, just give it chance! It's such a beautiful, funny, wonderful movie. Yes- it is definitely a chick flick but the guy who brings this home will get major points for bringing it. Very Romantic!
