This is a fun, refreshing, entertaining movie about a group of friends who overcome odds to accomplish their dreams. I love that their journey parallels the obstacles in the hit movie Lord of the Rings . . . except their "ring" is a thumb drive. It is very well done and the actors all hold their own even though for many it is their first time in starring roles. The production value rivals anything the big production houses have out, and the message is heart warming and a great take-away for any viewer.

An Homage to the Lord of the Rings in a Geeky Gamer Package

The story centers around a group of school-age gamers on a quest to a Lord of the Rings (LotR) Online competition. And since it's a quest your can guess what story their journey parallels -- including a stand-in for the One Ring.

This is clearly an indie film with an indie budget, so you won't see hordes of rampaging orcs or even excessive SyFy Channel CGI. What you do get is a charming homage to LotR amid a fun look at gamers. There's plenty of details to appreciate from the sound design of their version of the Nazgul to security guards and other minor villains who think (and are therefore far more of a threat).

Also, having seen way too many indie films that loudly proclaim they were "shot on the RED camera" that appeared gray and dull, it was nice to see these filmmakers using it to get some beautiful shots of their non-Middle Earth.

Odds are if you're not a fan of Lord of the Rings and aren't at least a bit of a gamer, you won't enjoy the film as much. In addition, if you need profanity and nihilistic violence, this is not the indie for you. It's reasonably family-friendly.

If you're up for a well-made indie affair about some gamer geeks going on the hero's journey, you'll probably enjoy it.

AWESOME!

I love this movie, my precious! It's got great actorsses. Yes! Yes!

Haha! Seriously though, my family and I love this movie, because it doesn't A. have an F bomb every 5 minutes or even "minor" curse words and B. it's amazingly great acting and great visuals.

It's an indie movie that pays homage to its love - Lord of the Rings.

If you're a fellow ringer, you're missing out on this family film!

Highly recommended.

Get it now! Fly, you fools!
